Poncho
in May of '92, this little schnauzer girl entered
the planet. Only 5 months later, she was being rehomed from
a situation where a family with children who purchased her
did not think that she was "working out" well for
their household. Fortunately for her, she was moved to a new
"safe haven" with a new and more loving family.
Some of her favorite things to do was to lay on your head
in the bed, or snuggle with you on the couch. Poncho was described
as a pooch with a " sense of adventure". If there
was crack in a fence or a door left ajar she would take the
opportunity to go out and explore! Poncho lived to be to 11,
and is still missed by her family today. Schnauzers remain
a very desirable breed. They are described as a lively, enthusiastic,
inquisitive dog. It is these characteristics combined with
their reliability, friendliness and loyalty that make them
an ideal family or companion dog. One can only wonder why
her first family gave her up? They are extremely intelligent
and are often referred to as 'the dog with the human brain'.
They appear to think in a more human way and act according
to your mood. They carry themselves with a sense of importance,
are usually not aggressive and are slow to anger but quick
to defend if challenged. If you are interested in this breed
for your family, please check with local rescue organizations
in your area, search the Internet for information on them,
and remember to adopt a rescue! Here is an example of one
rescue who focuses on this wonder breed!
