All
of these paintings hold a special meaning to me, as some
were done while in Africa, others of animals that should
have remained wild but are now in captivity because of
one of a million perhaps stupid reasons. Takoma, is a
painting to help educate the public about over-breeding
exotic species. The painting entitled "The Fabulous
Five", was taken from photos from elephants who have
finally found a peaceful home here in the US, as they
have been rescued and retired to The Elephant Sanctuary
in Tennessee. All of these paintings are created from
live animals I photographed or were given to me from the
sanctuary they represent to help raise funds for their
worthy causes.
As
a result of my travels to Africa, at to various sanctuaries
around the world and in the US, I have expanded my knowledge
to better understand the struggles of animals on the globe,
and thus dedicate my wildlife paintings to help give back
to the many organizations who strive to remove species
from the endangered lists, eradicate disease, and supply
veterinary care and final sanctuary to these incredible
animals here in the US and abroad.
This
small but expanding collection of paintings are entitled;
"Honor the Earth". African lions are on the
decline and feared to be on the endangered species list
soon it is important that we educate the world on their
plight. Since African government subsidies are rapidly
declining, effective research and conservation program
funding is needed to ensure a stable future for these
animals. Funding will help address issues related to disease
like canine distemper in the Serengeti, tuberculosis in
Kruger, and FIV for lions in Botswana. Or it can help
abolish some of the disheartening actions such as canned
hunts which are causing some of these animals to come
close to extinction.
Support
wildlife and conservation funds. Honor the earth and its
animals!
Remember
the purchase of one of my wildlife art products will donate
a portion of the proceeds to a wildlife fund!
You
can help spread the word and give back at the same time.
