When people think of animal abuse, immediately what comes to mind are smaller domestic animals, specifically dogs and cats. We know that many do oppose animal testing, animal based products, and laboratory experiments, which cause animals to suffer. But one of the most overlooked forms of abuse in the US and other countries is that of farm animals. The horses you will see in this section are not those who are used for pleasure, were treated with kindness, or received the love and attention they deserve. These faces are of horses that have endured great abuse, neglect, and/or have been subject to experimentation, prodding, catheters, etc. Likewise, the newly added farm animals in this section, will depict many of the horrible struggles factory farmed animals endure for the pleasure of humans. Special places like THE FARM SANCTUARY believe (as I do) that farm animals are living, feeling animals, not agribusiness “commodities.” I am saddened to know the majority of states anti-cruelty laws specifically exempt farm animals from basic humane protection — so abandoning a sick animal on a pile of dead animals is considered “normal animal agricultural” practice. Something has to happen for the world to see understand this cruelty...and the take a stand.

Please take a moment to educate yourself on the scope of animal abuse which occurs each day in the world to those domesticated animals some times refer to as "beast of burdens". We all can stop the cruelty. We all can make a difference!

Remember a portion of the proceeds of products from this site goes to help animals like those represented here. Please read their stories, and open your hearts to their plight, so other horses do not suffer and die in vane.
