Three little terrified kitten brothers, dumped in an open
car in a small subdivision outside of Pittsburgh found their
way right into the arms of the angels. After extracting them
from the car engine and convincing them that people were not
so bad, Mary and her husband Richard safely placed them in
a temporary (so they thought) "holding" room in
their townhome. After being cat-less for almost a year (losing
their beloved 22-year old feline companion Ginger), maybe
the planet was deciding that it was time for the pitter patter
of little paws again? After talking themselves into giving
the boys "one more night", soon a day became two,
a "few more" became a week, and well....those little
stow-a-ways creped into their hearts. Proud parents of the
whiskered triplets, Boots, Dora and Manny where home! Boots
(22 pounds of pure LOVE) is a relaxed and laid back fellow.
Dora (ok...we said boys), welllllllll, Mary and Richard
were positive that he was a she but found out after they named
her/him that was a mistake, BUT since he was so much like
"Dora the Explorer" the name stuck. Manny got his
name from the little white tips on his paws as if he
has a French manicure. Manny is a special needs
kitty as sometimes forgets where he is in the house and he
cries out until someone goes and gets him (human or cat is
fine with him). OK...so you say three...but there is four
here. That's right....and then along came Peanut, (bottom
right). That cute and funny girl was living with a bunch of
feral cats. All 2 1/2 lbs of her, scraggly, malnourished,
and near death with a broken leg, her rescuer (friend of Mary's)
found her in time. Peanut decided that she had one change
to make it out of the colony and she did. She cried and cried,
until someone heard her. She's should be on the cover of LIFE
magazine because she's all about survival. She was the perfect
mix into the triplets, and they all taught her what a good
life was really about. Her chirp and coos can be heard across
the house. All of them are living the life of Riley, having
been rescued from the streets, and living in the laps of their
wonderful loving human companions.
Please consider rescuing a cat from a shelter vs. buying
from a breeder. Millions of animals each year are euthanized
because of over population. Do the right thing, save a stray!
