Brown Nest with Red Leaf & Feathers
This combination of nature objects mixed in with a magnolia leaf colored in red....so very unusual since these trees never turn colors in the fall. My favorite of all paintings, because the background was taken from a photo I took in the Grand Canyon, and the floating objects that of feathers from a Georgia dove, that of a great horned owl (take a closer look at the details of this feather in the prior image), and a down feather from a macaw. Together the composition represent any number of things to me, combination of diversity (mixing of feathers of birds that would never communally be together), a wrens nest not likely in the Grand Canyon, and a leaf which scientifically stays green-turned red, signifying the loss of greenness (or movement towards growth) new experiences and expansion of all.
